A plot is afoot to launch world War III. Leslie Stewart, one of the
conspirators dies in an auto accident, and as fate would have it,
Jackie Holmes, that man from C.A.M.P., is her exact double.

and thwart the conspiracy, and teams up with gorgeous Swedish
agent Sven who thinks he really is a woman. Then it's Leslie's
lesbian lover, Magda and Russian agent, Boris, and fellow

Ships are disappearing from mid-ocean without a trace,
and the Super-Powers are planning a summit cruise to take
them through the same oceanic region. Jackie Holmes, the
intrepid man from C.A.M.P. sails to the rescue, and soon
finds himself at the bottom of the sea, in the legendary city
of Atlantis, ruled by Emperor Mother Schmucker who has
a dastardly plan to take over the world upstairs. Gays are
the norm here in this Atlantis (and I think we would all
appreciate their substitute for our traditional handshake)
and straights accepted if they aren't too obvious. Jackie
reunites with an old flame, Black Rose, fights sea monsters
and brings things to a climax with an Yma Sumac number
that I personally think is one of the best bits in the whole series.

A passel of guests is trapped in the fabulous but haunted
Castle Gaye in the California mountains, where an ancient
curse promises that Jackie Holmes will die before he finishes
this case. Jackie attempts to retire from C.A.M.P. and settle
down with a new lover, the elegant and enormously wealthy
Baron Max van der Gout, but a string of accidents and a
weeping ghost give every indication that the curse is working.
Then a stream of Jackie's previous sexual conquests from
earlier C.A.M.P. cases begin to show up at the castle, and in
no time he finds himself with naked and jealous men stashed
in every corner and closet of his rooms, with the ghost of
Castle Gaye adding her own complications to the mixture.

Drewey Wayne Gunn ("The Gay Male Sleuth in
Print and Film," Scarecrow Press) calls this book "a
prototype for a whole series of gay detectives to come,
and a book that should reclaim its rightful place in gay
history." Dennis Eastman arrives in Los Angeles
expecting to meet his lover, Linc Gardner, only to learn
that Linc has been murdered, by a piece of rough trade
that he mistakenly picked up, or so the police believe.
Dennis thinks otherwise and sets out to find the murderer.
His trail leads him into the world of queer leather bars
and kinky sex. As he finally closes in on his quarry, he
learns that the killer now plans to use him as a partner
for his own depraved lusts—before murdering him as well!
